We uphold high standards of governance without being involved in the day-to-day management of Ingka Group

INGKA Foundation is governed in accordance with Dutch law and its Articles of Association. As a Dutch foundation, it has no owners or shareholders and operates solely to fulfil its charitable purpose. The Foundation’s governance framework ensures independent oversight, responsible stewardship of assets, and compliance with applicable laws and regulations.

Board responsibility and oversight

The Board of Directors is the Foundation’s governing body and has ultimate responsibility for safeguarding its purpose and assets. The Board comprises five members, each with one vote.

In line with the intentions of our founder, Ingvar Kamprad, the Kamprad family may occupy up to two of the five seats on the INGKA Foundation Board. This means the family can be involved in the Foundation but does not control it.

Foundation funds may only be used in pursuit of our charitable purpose. They can never be spent for the benefit of the Kamprad family, except for moderate and reasonable remuneration for Board and committee membership.

Through their engagement, the Kamprad family help preserve Ingvar Kamprad’s legacy and values.
