Safeguarding independence
Established in the Netherlands in 1982, INGKA Foundation was created to provide stable, long-term ownership of Ingka Group and to safeguard its independence and values. We are legally and operationally separate from Ingka Group and are not involved in its management decisions or supervision.

As a steward owner, the Foundation protects Ingka Group’s purpose, culture and long-term financial strength, supporting responsible growth anchored in its founding principles. In doing so, we ensure that the IKEA vision – to create a better everyday life for the many people – continues to thrive for generations to come.

In FY25, 15% of the net income of Ingka Group was paid as dividends to INGKA Foundation. INGKA Foundation ultimately uses the dividends to support the IKEA Foundation in achieving its philanthropic purpose.
